Our Next Adventure(s)
So, our 2nd official book club meeting is complete! The African food was delicious and the conversation was passionate. Our immediate goal as individuals (and as a book club) is to take the personal initiative to speak out about a (global) issue we feel needs a voice and support, within the next month. The issue could be HIV / AIDS in Africa or it could be something else. Speaking out could come in the form of writing a letter to a politician, calling a local politician, starting a petition, organizing a protest/rally; or anything else that will make a statement in some way, shape or form. Every single one of us is capable of at least this much.
Our next book club meeting will be held on Thursday, July 27th at 7pm at Rachel's house, with Jenn as host. Our next book is Blindness by Jose Saramago. Jessica is performing in a concert on Wednesday, July 26th at 8pm. For more information visit www.londonearlyopera.ca.
Lastly, I am beginning to brainstorm about a possible fundraiser gala event to support the fight against HIV / AIDS in Africa. If you are at all interested in helping out with this, then any and all of your thoughts would be appreciated.
