Fountainhead Meeting

Hi all,

Well, I really enjoyed discussing Fountainhead - thanks for picking this book Rach, I would never have thought to read it otherwise! Thanks for the snacks too Jess!

I have a suggestion; if any of you finish it in the next little while, post any of your comments on here so that I can see what you thought of the ending! It was very difficult not to talk about the last 50 pages or so!

Happy reading with Fugitive Pieces. It's great so far!

J

Yes, thank you so much for the food, Jess. It was delicious! Next time, when we pick a book this long we may need to give people two months to read it! I'll probably finish in the next couple of days and then I will definitely start posting!!!
Reminder to all: the next meeting is Fugitive Pieces, and I'm hosting at my place!

Hey all,

I was thinking just that Rach, - that if a book is voted in that is especially long, then maybe we could skip a month in between so people can just focus on that book for 2 months. That way it would allow us to read some of the classics that are a little lengthy, but well worth the effort. I really liked Fountainhead, but now that I'm back in to teaching, it wouldn't be realistic for me to read such a long book. Maybe we can discuss that at the Dec. meeting if any long books get picked.

Sounds like an idea to to consider Jenn. Perhaps though, instead of skipping a month we could organize some kind of get together related to the book. Like attending an event at the library or getting together to watch a related film. Ah, movies.

I like that idea too Joyce. We'll see what books come up at the suggestion meeting in Dec.

Oh, by the way, I HAVE it - the perfect person to play Roark in a movie version of Fountainhead - wait for it - wait for it - Patrick ---Dempsey! He'd be perfect for Howard, don't you think?
