Dachau Meeting
Well, another fabulous meeting under our belt! I'm glad to have been introduced to Quinn. I look forward to reading more and comparing. Thanks Jess and Graham for the spread last night (I still smell like garlic - it's great!) and Jenn/gang for the discussion. I dreamt about aliens systematically eliminating our race, but that could have just been the wine.
I would be happy to host the next meeting if that's OK with everyone. I think the next two books after Sept are ours so it will be my last chance to host for awhile. Besides, I think it's my turn.
Looking forward to the Fountainhead (in a "crap I better start that" kind of way). LOL

Hey all,
I also enjoyed the discussion and truly do hope some of you pick up another Daniel Quinn book. They are very thought-provoking and I hope he continues to stick more to philosophy, rather than trying to use too much plot, since it is not his forte. Also, check out his website: I think it is ishmael.com. Do a google search to find the right link. When you're on his website, click on the parables link and check out some of his parables. While I don't agree with all of his beliefs and ideas, I think he has a unique vision and I have to give him credit for expressing it.
On the way home last night, I had told Rach that I wouldn't mind hosting again, because it would give me the kick in the butt this weekend to actually organize my apartment so that I could have you guys here at the end of the month, but I don't mind doing November instead if you want to do Sept. Caro. The reason I won't do Oct. is it will be the exact same situation as July: the end of a term and I will be marking exams and final essays and it will pretty much just be a sucky time for me. We finish a term every 7 weeks at Wheable. So I'm game for Sept. or Nov.
Talk soon! You guys will like Fountainhead! I read more last night and I'm close to page 200 already. I don't know WHY I like it. It is bizarre: architecture, male-dominated world, 1940s, dated language.....hmmmm.
How's everyone making out with Fountainhead? 200 pages to go for me. Should be an interesting discussion.
Jenn
I'm on page 45. I have a ways to go.
Eep.
I'm just past page 100. Eeks. I've been busy, but so far I'm not finding it to be a difficult read. I just haven't had enough time to sit down and really delve into it. Is that how you spell delve?
